International yoga day was celebrated in the «Avaza» National tourist zone

On the 7th of June, a yoga master class was held on the coast of the «Avaza» National tourist zone, organised by the Embassy of India in Turkmenistan as part of the celebration of International yoga day, celebrated annually on the 21st of June.

In the morning, numerous participants gathered on the beach of the «Tolkun» cottage complex, including young people, residents of the city of Turkmenbashy, and vacationers at health centres.

Under the guidance of a qualified instructor, participants performed traditional asanas aimed at strengthening their physical and spiritual well-being. Exercises help relieve muscle tension, improve blood circulation, and also have a positive effect on joints and internal organs. Static holding of asanas in combination with the practice of pranayama develops concentration, calms the mind and restores emotional balance.

At the end of the master class, participants were given fruit, which, according to the instructors, helps gently restore energy balance and replenish glucose reserves after active practice without placing undue strain on the digestive system.

Since the opening of the yoga and traditional medicine Centre at the «Bagtyyarlyk» Sports complex in Ashgabat, the Indian Embassy in Turkmenistan, together with representatives of the Turkmen side, has been organising annual mass yoga events and holding regular classes at the Centre with the participation of local teachers.

It is noteworthy that this is the third year in a row that similar events have been held on the Caspian sea coast, promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people.
