A gala reception was held at the Embassy of the United States of America in Turkmenistan with the participation of the USA under secretary of State for public diplomacy Sarah B. Rogers. The meeting, held in a warm atmosphere, was dedicated to strengthening bilateral ties and developing cultural and educational cooperation.

Addressing the event participants, the American guest expressed sincere gratitude for the warm welcome and shared her impressions of busy schedule of the event.

In her speech, Sarah B. Rogers paid special attention to the success of educational projects implemented at the USA diplomatic mission. Thanks to these initiatives, she said, more and more Turkmen citizens are demonstrating excellent English proficiency.

«I was truly delighted to meet alumni of some of the joint programs. This meeting was one of the most pleasant and inspiring moments of my stay in Turkmenistan», – the deputy secretary of State emphasised.

The American politician also noted that the essence of her work in the field of public diplomacy is to find common ground and strengthen direct contacts with foreign publics, where the main task is to find common values that unite despite geographic and cultural distances.

Speaking about the foundation of bilateral relations, Sarah B. Rogers touched on the deep similarities between the peoples of the two countries.

«Despite their differences, Turkmenistan and the USA share a fundamental value: a deep respect for the spirit of independence, which is an integral part of the national identity of both countries», – the State department official said.

The distinguished guest described the current dynamics of development of cooperation between the states as a very significant period. During her visit, Sarah B. Rogers held productive meetings at key government agencies in Turkmenistan – the Ministry of foreign affairs, the Ministry of culture, and the Ministry of education.
