President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received vice-president of the Swiss Confederation, which holds the rotating chairmanship of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and Head of the Federal department of foreign affairs Ignazio Cassis.
The head of state noted that this visit is considered a significant step toward the progressive development of relations of Turkmenistan with both the OSCE and the Swiss Confederation.
During the meeting, it was emphasised that Turkmenistan consistently advocates for enhanced international cooperation to ensure peace, stability, and sustainable development in the regional and global dimensions.
In this context, the country attaches particular importance to the coordination of efforts within the OSCE framework.
«We have favourable conditions for expanding cooperation in such areas as ensuring safe and reliable energy supplies to global markets, creating conditions for sustainable economic growth, fully utilising potential in the transport sector, environmental protection, and the rational use of water resources», – declared President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Particular attention was paid to bilateral dialogue during the meeting. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov acknowledged the productive nature of relations between Turkmenistan and Switzerland, confirming his interest in further expanding cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural spheres.
