On September 9, 2026, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan Aléna Grand. Ambassador presented the credentials to the head of state.

Expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for time devoted to meeting, the diplomat noted that France attaches great importance to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan. The Ambassador conveyed warm greetings from President Emmanuel Macron to the head of state and the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

Conveying his best wishes to the leader of France, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Aléna Grand on her appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan, wishing her great success in her important and responsible mission.

As noted, France is one of key partners of Turkmenistan in Europe. At the same time, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing cooperation in the trade, economic, energy, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

It was noted with satisfaction that both states successfully cooperate not only in a bilateral format but also within major international platforms. A vivid proof of this is the partnership within such reputable structures as the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

As noted, this interaction is not limited to the interstate level but is also actively developing through the private sectors of both countries.

The head of state confirmed the of readiness Turkmenistan for the joint implementation of new promising initiatives in areas such as energy, transport and logistics infrastructure, science, and culture.

It was emphasized that the cultural and humanitarian sphere is an important component of Turkmen-French relations. In this regard, it was emphasized that the mutual enrichment of cultures contributes to strengthening the bilateral friendly partnership.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan Aléna Grand noted that it is a great honor for her to carry out her diplomatic mission in neutral Turkmenistan and assured President Serdar Berdimuhamedov that she will make every effort to bring interstate cooperation to a qualitatively new level for the benefit of peoples of both countries.
