Development of cultural and humanitarian relations with our compatriots is one of important directions of foreign strategy of independent Turkmenistan. Content and directions of work with foreign compatriots are expanded every year, contacts in such spheres as science and education, culture and art, publishing, health protection, tourism, sports, entrepreneurship are activated.
Prior to the beginning of the Conference of HATW, the delegates took part in the opening ceremony of the Exhibition of economic achievements of Turkmenistan, which was timed to the celebration of the 28th anniversary of the country.
Opening ceremony of the Forum with participation of the members of the Government, deputies of the Mejlis, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations, institutes of the Academy of Sciences, ministries and departments, universities of the capital, who are collective members of the HATW as well as individual members of the Association from all velayats of the country, scientific and cultural personnel, elders, journalists and students was held in the conference hall of the Mekan Palace in the afternoon.
The participants have listened to the greeting message of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with great enthusiasm. It was highlighted in the message of the Head of the State that this forum would serve to further consolidation of Turkmens of the world, strengthening of their fraternity and solidarity, activation and filling of cooperation with new content for peace and friendship, prosperity and stable development.
Report on the activity of Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World, which is a competent international organization known far beyond our country, has been listened during the session. Special focus was made on important international events in September. Resolution “2021 – International Year of Peace and Trust” initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has been adopted unanimously by all country members of the UN at the 106th session of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
In addition, Final Statement of the First Caspian Economic Forum, which was held in Avaza National tourist zone on August 11 – 12, 2019, has been published in official UN languages as a document of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
It was mentioned that these facts are bright evidence of improvement of authority of our country in the world arena, general recognition of constructive initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan for provision of energy security, opening of transport and transit corridors, protection of environment and natural resources of Caspian Sea, Aral Sea saving and climate change. It was highlighted that successful integration of the country to the world political, economic and legal space is the result of foreign strategy of the Head of the State.
It was mentioned that there are 27 foreign branch offices of the HATW in 15 countries of the world – Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The association includes 364 and hundreds of individual members including 358 from foreign countries.
It was mentioned that provision of consolidation of compatriots, popularization of humanitarian policy of Turkmenistan, historical and cultural heritage, traditions and customs of Turkmen nation and modern achievements of the country are the main directions of work with foreign diasporas.
Representatives from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Iran and other countries informed about the activity of foreign branches of HATW during the conference. Taking opportunity, they have expressed gratitude to Turkmen leader for attention and care of compatriots who live abroad.
Delegates of the conference noted support in social and economic restoration of Afghanistan, construction of social and cultural facilities in some countries by our state.
The participants highlighted that all positive international initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan serves for strengthening of relations between the states and the nations and are aimed at universal peace and sustainable development. The participants of the Conference have also discussed the objectives for further development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation of Turkmens of the world.
The award ceremony of active members of the HATW took place under the Forum. It was followed by celebration concert of art masters.
Exhibition of visual, decorative and applied art as well as printing production has been expanded in the hall of the Palace and in front of the conference hall.

Our compatriots from foreign countries will take part in celebration dedicated to the 28th anniversary of Turkmenistan Independence. Big cultural programme including visits to theatres, museums, State Historical and Cultural Reserve Nisa and other attractions of the capital is prepared for the delegates.
