President of Turkmenistan congratulates compatriots on the 26th anniversary of manat introduction

“Introduction of the national currency – manat allowed creating favourable conditions for the sustainable growth of the national economy, adopting the national monetary policy. The banking system, a key segment of the national economy, has turned into one of its dynamically developing areas”, says President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, addressing the people of Turkmenistan on occasion of the 26th anniversary of manat.

The state policy pays significant attention to the further rise the level of reliability of the banking sphere. Ensuring its sustainable development through the introduction of digital technologies, increasing the effectiveness of the money and risk management system, developing corporate governance, improving the business environment, budget growth and profitability are among the strategic tasks for the future.

According to the President of Turkmenistan, the stable work of the banking sector is a decisive factor in increasing the competitiveness of the domestic economy and its integration into the global economic space. In this regard, the main tasks are to further maintain a stable national manat rate, expand the scale and quality of banking services, introduce the best international experience in the activities of specialized institutions.

Currently, the legislative acts regulating banking activities in our country are integrated with the international standards. The fruitful work is carried out to increase the financial literacy of the population. The participation of banking sector specialists in seminars and conferences held in the country and abroad promotes their professional growth.

“We will continue paying special attention to the systematic improvement of the monetary policy of our state, providing financial support to the manufacturing and export-oriented sectors of the national economy, building up of a fruitful partnership with international financial institutions, strengthening the legal framework of the banking sector, adopting the most advanced technologies,” emphasizes the President of Turkmenistan in his Address.
