President of Turkmenistan and the President of the Russian Federation discuss key vectors of bilateral cooperation during telephone conversation

The President of Turkmenistan had the telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation.

Cordially greeting each other, the leaders of the two states expressed satisfaction with an opportunity to exchange views on priority issues of the intergovernmental relations, which are based on the principles of strategic partnership.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the formation of the new composition of the government of the Russian Federation and wished the RF Cabinet Ministers success in their work in the name of further progress and prosperity. According to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan pays special attention to widening the constructive dialogue with the Russian Federation as one of the priority areas in implementing its foreign-policy course.

The leaders of the two states discussed the key vectors of bilateral cooperation.

At the same time, the sides focused on the impressive potential for further activation and diversification of trade and economic partnership, increasing the volume of mutual trade turnover, promoting investment activity, entering into new mutually beneficial projects. An important role in its implementation is assigned to the joint intergovernmental commission and regular contacts through business structures. At the same time, the importance of strengthening the fruitful humanitarian dialogue in the spheres of education, science and culture was emphasized.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to his Turkmen colleague for the attention paid to enhancing regional relations of particular interest for the two states.

One of the topics of discussion was the practical implementation of agreements reached during Turkmenistan's presidency over the CIS in 2019 and documents adopted during this period, including the Declaration on Strategic Economic Cooperation initiated by the Turkmen side.

Exchanging views on a number of topical issues of regional and global importance, the sides underlined the commitment of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation to constructive partnership within the UN and other authoritative international organizations to ensure universal peace, security and prosperity.

The Turkmen leader invited his Russian colleague to participate in the celebrations on occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality.

In conclusion of the telephone conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that the traditional interstate dialogue, based on the long-standing bonds of friendship, good neighborliness and mutual goodwill, would continue to develop successfully, filling with new content and addressed the best wishes to the peoples of the two countries.
