Within the framework of a working trip to Balkan Velayat, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considered the progress of construction of the Bereket-Etrek-Akyayla section of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran transnational steel line.
At the moment, 256 kilometers of the Bereket-Etrek railway have been laid.
The Turkmen leader considered the projects of facilities of the railway, engineering and technical infrastructure being built along the Bereket-Etrek main line as well as draft design of the railway network of the country and the Uzen-Gyzylgaya-Bereket-Etrek-Gorgan steel line.
The draft designs of several bridges to be built along the railway were also submitted to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The President considered the progress of construction of the railway station buildings as well as the state-of-the-art equipment used there.
Riding a train, the President of Turkmenistan considered the facilities being built, including apartment houses for railway workers and their families, and bridges built along the Bereket-Etrek section.
Considering the objects, the Turkmen leader underlined the importance of using the ecologically friendly technologies within the framework of the project of construction of the North-South transnational railway.

Workers and heads of the Nata Turkish Company as well as representative of the Consolidated Consultants Engineering and Environment Consulting Company (Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) greeted the President of Turkmenistan there.
Speaking with the representative of the Consolidated Consultants Engineering and Environment Consulting Company, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the North-South transnational steel line should meet the high international standards that should be fixed in the relevant international certificate.
At the Etrek station, the Turkmen leader considered the complex of modern apartment houses for railway workers and their families built by specialists of the Polat Gurluşyk Turkmen private enterprise, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
The President expressed satisfaction with the quality of construction works, improvement of the adjacent territory as well as selection and use of construction materials produced locally that significantly reduced the cost of construction and didn’t affect the quality of works. In this regard, the Turkmen leader noted that this fact vividly testified to the diverse potential of Turkmen business that should be actively implemented.
In conclusion, the President once again focused on the significance of the North-South Transnational steel line that would be a solid ‘bridge’ between Asia and Europe as well as an integral part of the modern regional and international transport infrastructure.
