President of Turkmenistan congratulates students and teachers on the Knowledge and Students’ Day

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated schoolchildren, students and educational professionals of Turkmenistan on the Knowledge and Student’s Day and the beginning of the new 2014-2015 academic year.

In his Address the President underlined that our main goal was to bring up a generation of hard-working, high-minded, educated people, the true patriots, who were proud of their country and the people. “Your sacred duty is to study hard, acquire knowledge in the name of the great future of the Turkmen people and our sovereign Motherland”, said the Turkmen leader appealing to the young people.

The President continued that bringing the national sphere of education to the higher scientific, technological and qualitatively level, creating all conditions for developing a physically strong and spiritually healthy young generation, providing them with an opportunity to get strong modern education were the key priorities of the state policy.

The reforms on modernizing the system of education, ensuring its high quality and succession including preschool institutions, secondary and elementary schools, colleges, and higher educational institutions that absorbed the best national and world experience are based on this principle.

Construction of new educational institutions supplied with the most advanced teaching technologies, enhancement of the international cooperation in this area, as well as transition to the 12-year term of study offer an extra powerful incentive to development of the scientific and educational sphere.

The ceremonies of opening of the International University of Humanitarian Sciences and Development, the Training and Development Complex with Rehabilitation Centre in Ashgabat, as well as dozens of secondary schools and kindergartens in other cities and settlements of the country are dedicated to the Knowledge and Students’ Day.

“Knowledge is the source of creativity and renovation, and therefore while implementing the long-term national programmes, particular attention is paid to modernization of the sphere of education and increasing the intellectual potential of the country”, said the Turkmen leader. Addressing teachers, the President noted that successful implementation of reforms in the sphere of education, bringing up our youth in the spirit of humanity and patriotism depended on the creative approach and professionalism of teachers.
