President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted the first working videoconference meeting with the velayat hyakims in the new building of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The issues related to ongoing agricultural activities in the regions and the progress in implementing the social and economic reforms and other domestic policy issues were considered during the meeting.
Opening the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave the floor to Ahal Velayat Hyakim M. Nurmuhammedov.
The Hyakim reported on the progress in sowing winter wheat and harvesting cotton in the region and the measures taken to accelerate the pace of construction work. The Hyakim also informed the Turkmen leader of the preparations for the Independence Day celebrations.
Commenting on the report, the Turkmen leader dwelt upon ongoing agricultural activities and instructed to take the necessary measures to accelerate the pace of the winter wheat sowing and cotton harvesting campaigns in Tejen, Kaahka and Derveze Etrap.
Dwelling upon ongoing activities in the agricultural sector of the region, the President focused on the slow pace of the cotton campaign in some etraps, particularly in Kaahka and Derveze Etrap and demanded that the Ahal Velayat Hyakim should take the necessary measures to accelerate the pace of the cotton campaign. Also, the Turkmen leader demanded that the appropriate level of readiness of facilities and buildings to be put into operation in honour of the 23rd anniversary of independence should be ensured. Noting that the management of work in the agro-industrial sector of Lebap Velayat left much to be desired, the President ordered to take the necessary measures to accelerate the rate of sowing winter wheat in Birata, Galkynysh and Karabekaul Etrap. The Turkmen leader demanded that the Lebap Velayat Hyakim would increase the level of organization of the cotton campaign in some etraps, particularly in Birata, Dovletli and in Magdanly Etrap.
