President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attends the opening ceremonies of new facilities in Mary Velayat

The plane of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov landed at the airport in Mary town, where the officials cordially greeted the President of Turkmenistan.

The central square in front of the complex of plants producing ammonia and carbamide was festively decorated.

The car of the President of Turkmenistan stopped at the main entrance to the plants. The Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov entered the building, where a specialist of the control centre cordially greeted him. The project of the plants with the annual capacity of 400,000 tons of ammonia and 640,000 tons of carbamide was implemented by the Turkish company Renaissance in accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan. The contract for design, delivery of equipment and technical consulting was concluded with the consortium of the Japanese companies Kawasaki Plant Systems Ltd and Sojitz Corporation.

The commissioning of these chemical plants will enable Turkmenistan to build up capacity as well as enhance export opportunities of the chemical industry. 80 per cent of carbamide to be produced at the plants will be supplied to foreign consumers. When implementing the project, specialists paid particular attention to the environmental aspects.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pressed the button and launched the manufacturing process at the plants. Those present could watch the manufacturing process on the monitors.

The Turkmen leader visited an exhibition of the first products manufactured at the new ammonia and carbamide producing plants, including ammonium nitrate, Turkmen salt, carbamide, sodium sulfate "B", technical iodine, bischofite, carbon K-354, medical plaster was arranged at the new plants. The exposition also included the similar products manufactured at the chemical plants in other regions of the country.

Upon completing the visit to the new plant, the Turkmen leader wrote an entry to the Book of Guests of Honour.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated all those present on the opening of the new plant and wished its workers and specialists every success in their work. Then the Turkmen leader presented new cars to the new plant.

The Turkmen leader headed to the venue for the opening ceremony of a gas turbine power plant with the total capacity of 146.7 MW built by the Turkish company Calik Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov cut the ribbon and entered the building. Specialists of the control centre told the ceremony participants that the new power plant consists of a number of modern technological facilities. The Turkmen leader pressed the button and put the new power plant into operation. Upon completing the visit to the new power plant, the Turkmen leader wrote an entry to the Book of Guests of Honour.

The car of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stopped at the main entrance of the shopping precinct. The Turkmen leader warmly greeted the ceremony participants. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov cut the ribbon and entered the territory of the shopping complex that occupies an area of 50 hectares.

When visiting the shopping precinct, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov answered the questions of foreign journalists, who were participating in the opening ceremonies held in Mary town to mark the 23rd anniversary of Turkmenistan independence. Addressing Turkish journalists in particular, the President focused on the importance attached by the Turkmen side to the upcoming first visit of President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Turkmenistan.

The car of the President of Turkmenistan arrived at the new hotel built in the park zone of the administrative centre of the region on the banks of the Murghab River. The seven-storey building of Mary hotel designed to receive 350 visitors sprang up in the centre of the town.

The President cut the ribbon and entered the hall illumined by lights of a huge crystal chandelier. The Turkmen leader talked to the administrative staff of the new hotel about the services rendered to visitors.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Board of Governors of Calyk Holding Ahmet Chalyk and President of GE Energy Western Europe & North Africa Ricardo Cordoba at the new hotel.

The Turkmen leader received the representatives of the Japanese companies Kawasaki Plant Systems Ltd and Sojitz Corporation and the Turkish company Renaissance.

After concluding the meetings, the President wrote an entry in the Book of Guests of Honour.
