President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Governor of Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation Aleksander Zhilkin, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the Independence Day celebrations.

The guest cordially congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the 23rd anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan and conveyed the hearty greetings of the leadership of the Russian Federation to the Turkmen leader.

When discussing the ways to enhance cooperation , the leader of Turkmenistan and the Governor of Astrakhan Region focused on priority areas, including trade, shipbuilding, transport and communications. Particular attention was paid to the intensification of humanitarian contacts, particularly in education and professional training.
