In a business-like atmosphere the Turkmen leader and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine discussed the ways to further promote interstate cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the international organisations, particularly the UN.
Focusing on the keen interest in expanding fruitful contacts with Turkmenistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized the need to intensify mutual cooperation in a number of areas. These include the trade and economy, fuel and energy and transport and communications sectors.
Discussing the prospects of mutually beneficial economic relations that the Ukrainian companies operating today in Turkmen market contribute to the guest focused on their willingness to implement new joint projects of national and regional significance.
The sides focused on the need to further strengthen cultural contacts that facilitate the spiritual rapprochement and mutual understanding between the two peoples. In this regard, emphasis was placed on the importance of the wide celebration of two significant anniversaries this year – the 290th birth anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fraghi and the 200th birth anniversary of the birth of the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko who are known and deeply honoured worldwide.
