President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council, during which the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies for the ten months of the current year and the ways to further optimize the activities and strengthen and modernize the material and technical base of the agencies were considered.
Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of National Security Ya. Berdiev reported on the work done by the Ministry in January-October and the fulfilment of the Turkmen’s leader instructions.
Chief of the State Border Guard Service M. Yslamov reported on the measures taken to enhance border security, raise the professional level of military servants and improve the conditions of their life and service as well as on the progress of construction of facilities and buildings for the State Border Guard Service.
Minister of Defence B. Gundogdyev reported on the progress in implementing the military reform initiated by the Turkmen leader to enhance defence capacity of the national army and the measures taken to strengthen combat capability of the Armed Forces during the reporting period.
The Minister reported on the ceremony of presenting awards to military servants and officers of the military and law enforcement agencies in honour of the 23rd anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. The awarding ceremony was first held on the initiative of the leader of Turkmenistan at the newly built memorial complex Halk Hakydasy.
Minister of Internal Affairs I. Mulikov reported on the work done in the ten months of the current year and the measures taken to maintain public order and prevent crimes, including road crimes, in the country.
Prosecutor General A. Hallyev reported on the current situation in the sphere under his supervision and the measures taken on the Turkmen leader’s instructions to increase the effectiveness of activities of public prosecutor’s offices to ensure the adherence to the rule of law in the country.
Chairman of the Supreme Court B. Charyev reported on the work done by judicial institutions under his supervision in January-October and the specific measures taken to improve the professional skills of judges and ensure the adherence to the rule of law.
Minister of Justice B. Muhammedov reported on the work done by the Ministry during the reporting period and the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions to further modernize the legal framework of the country and bring it in strict line with the standards of international law.
Chairman of the State Customs Service A. Hojamgulyev reported on the work done by the State Customs Service in the ten months of the current year, in particular the measures taken to ensure thorough inspection of goods crossing the border of Turkmenistan in both directions.
Chief of the State Service for the Protection of Security of the Healthy Society A. Osmanov reported on the work done by the State Service, which aims its activities at countering illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and drug abuse.
Chairman of the State Migration Service D. Bairamov reported on the work done during the reporting period and the measures taken to fulfil the tasks set to the State Migration Service, including optimization of the issuance of foreign passports for citizens of Turkmenistan and registration of foreign visitors arriving in our country on private or official visits. He also reported on the completion of construction of the new building of the Kunya Urgench town section of Dashoguz Velayat Department of the State Migration Service, an apartment house and a number of office buildings.
Upon concluding the meeting, the President emphasized that independent neutral Turkmenistan, pursuing the policy of peace, good neighbourliness and wide international cooperation, continues to confidently move forward along the chosen path, establishing a constructive, mutually beneficial dialogue with countries and authoritative international organisations. It was also noted that Turkmenistan as a sovereign nation that had chosen an independent path of development consistently implemented the comprehensive programme aimed at enhancing national security and defence capacity of the national army to ensure a peaceful life and prosperity of the Turkmen people. In this regard, the President instructed the high-ranking military and law enforcement officials to they should take all necessary measures to ensure peace, cohesion, law and order that stand as essential conditions for the advancement of the country towards the high goals of the epoch of might and happiness.
