President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the work done in the sectors of the national economy in January-October were considered and the priority tasks to ensure progressive development of the country and the important issues of domestic and foreign policies were considered.
The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers presented the reports. The macroeconomic indicators illustrate the positive trend in the national economic development in January-October. GDP growth rate made 110.3 per cent as compared to the same period in 2013. The industrial production growth rate made 113.5 per cent.
The comprehensive measures taken during the reporting period to raise industrial production, saturate the domestic market with food products and increase people’s incomes made it possible to increase retail trade by 17.3 per cent as compared to the same period in 2013. In January-October, the growth rate of foreign trade made 105.1 per cent.
The rate of growth in the volume of investment used from all sources of funding in the capital construction sector made 108.3 per cent as compared to the same period in 2013. The ratio of this index to GDP made 44.2 per cent.
With the view to achieve the objectives set forth in the National Programme of the President of Turkmenistan for the improvement of social and living conditions in villages, settlements, towns in etraps and etrap centres for the period till 2020, in January-October, 148 facilities and buildings were built, which totalled 26 above the figure for the same period of the last year. Apartment houses with a total housing area of 754.300 square metres, service lines and other facilities are currently under construction. The volume of investment used in January-October grew by 15.3 per cent as compared to the same period in 2013.
The revenues of the State budget were implemented at the rate of 119.8 per cent and the expenditures – at 96.8 per cent. 81.5 per cent of budgetary funds were directed to the social sphere. The average monthly salary increased by 10.4 per cent as compared to the same period in 2013. Wages, state benefits, pensions and scholarships were paid in full during the reporting period.
The report on the preparations for an official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan scheduled for November was presented. 53 facilities were put into operation in Ashgabat in January-October; 12 facilities are to be put into operation by the end of the year. In this regard, it was reported that 213 facilities were currently under construction according to the resolutions of the President of Turkmenistan, of which 150 facilities were under construction at the request of Ashgabat Haykimlik.
The information on new facilities and buildings to be put into operation in December this year was presented. These include the poultry complex with production capacity of 8 million of eggs and 1,000 tons of meat in Bayramali Etrap, Mary Velayat and a warehouse designed for storage of 1,000 tons of fruits and vegetables in Turkmenabat, the administrative centre of Lebap Velayat.
It was reported that the growth rate of production of natural and associated gas made 110.1 per cent and ‘blue fuel’ exports to foreign countries made 110.3 per cent in January-October.
The report on the preparations for the international science conference on the Practices of Turkmenistan in Study and Museumification of Archaeological Finds, which will take place in Ashgabat on November 12-14, was presented.
Commenting on the reports, the Turkmen leader specified the priority tasks to be fulfilled by the end of the current year, which will make it possible to launch the implementation of the projects and plans for 2015.
Other important issues were considered and the decisions were adopted at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
