2015 State Budget of Turkmenistan approved

Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the fifth convocation held the fifth session to consider and adopt a number of new laws and statutory acts.

The main issue on the agenda of the parliamentary session, which the cabinet ministers, high-ranking officials of ministries and departments and media representatives were invited to attend, was the adoption of the Law of Turkmenistan On the 2015 State Budget of Turkmenistan.

In total, the state budget revenues in 2015 will make 102,800.8 million manat, and the state budget expenditures - 106,200.8 million manat. The state budget revenues will be mainly generated in the basic industrial sectors, including the oil and gas, chemical, power and construction industries. The agro-industrial, transport and communications, textile and food industries will further develop. Revenues are expected to grow in 2015 through the stimulation of the non-state sector of the national economy.

The expenditures of 1 budget level to be allocated for the social sphere will make 79 per cent. Substantial funds will be allocated to finance education, health care, culture, sports, social welfare services, housing and communal services.

Substantial investment will be used to implement large-scale national projects and programmes, including the development of the Avaza national tourism zone and the urban development programme in the capital city and the regions of the country, and build important social and cultural, industrial, transport and communication facilities. The Parliament unanimously adopted the draft Law of Turkmenistan On the 2015 State Budget of Turkmenistan.

Parliamentarians also considered the draft laws on enforcement proceedings and the status of legal executives, on operational search activity, on forensic activity, on auditing, on the securities market and on the protection of the rights of consumers. The discussion on the draft laws on publishing activity, on theatre and theatre activity and on veterinary activity was put on the agenda of the session.

Also, the draft resolutions of Mejlis of Turkmenistan on the ratification of the Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Hungary, on the ratification of the Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Resources of the Caspian Sea, on the ratification of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Prevention and Disaster Management in the Caspian Sea, on the categorization of a New Settlement in Gokdepe Etrap in Ahal Velayat as a village were considered.

Deputies of Mejlis considered and unanimously approved a number of new laws.
