President of Turkmenistan conducts a videoconference meeting

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a videoconference meeting with the cabinet ministers, the heads of ministries and departments concerned and the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat.

The progress in implementing the social and economic development strategy and the priority national programmes was considered and a number of important documents were signed during the meeting.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers A. Yazmyradov reported on preparedness for the next year’s agricultural campaigns.

Commenting on the report, the Turkmen leader gave the floor to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Ereshov, who is in charge of Turkmenhimiya State Concern, and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Hojamuhammedov and instructed them to develop a well-coordinated time schedule for the delivery of domestically manufactured fertilizers for the next year and if necessary to take measures to purchase abroad the of additional volumes of fertilizers that are not manufactured in Turkmenistan.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers M. Yazmuhammedova reported on ongoing work at the institutions under her supervision and the preparations for the upcoming celebrations, including New Year celebrations.

Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to thoroughly prepare for the upcoming celebrations in honour of the Day of Neutrality of Turkmenistan and New Year celebrations.

Minister of Defence B. Gundogdyev reported on ongoing work to optimize the activities, strengthen the material and technical base of the Armed Forces and train highly qualified specialists for the national army.

President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed Minister of Defence B. Gundogdyev to develop the programme of the ceremonies, which will be held with the participation of military servants in the administrative centres of the regions to mark the National Flag Day and other significant events.

The heads of administration reported on the current situation in the regions and ongoing agricultural activities, the preparation of agricultural equipment and machinery for the next year’s agricultural season, the progress in implementing the construction projects in the Avaza national tourism zone and the preparations for the Week of Culture, which will be held in Lebap Velayat in 2015.

The Turkmen leader instructed the velayat hyakims to ensure that cotton in the fields throughout the country should be picked to the last boll, take the most effective approach to carry out agro-technical activities and take measures to modernize the fleet of Turkmenistan’s agricultural industry.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to keep the work on the improvement of social and living conditions of citizens under strict control.

Touching upon the preparations for the upcoming celebrations, the Turkmen leader instructed the hyakims to ensure that the celebrations should be kept in a proper manner and salaries, pensions and state benefits should be paid in a timely manner.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that an important task at the present stage was to complete the construction projects in the Avaza national tourism zone in a proper and timely manner. The Turkmen leader instructed the Balkan Velayat Hyakim to make all necessary preparations for the ceremony of opening Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway.

Ashgabat Hyakim R. Nurmammedov reported on the current situation in the capital city.

The Turkmen leader noted that the facilities under construction in Ashgabat at the present stage must meet quality requirements and blend well with the architectural ensemble of the capital of Turkmenistan and construction work must adhere to construction schedule.

Upon concluding the meeting, the President focused on the importance of the issues and tasks considered and emphasized that the fulfilment of these tasks was essential to the further social and economic development of the country and the improvement in the standard of living of citizens.
