The President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Oil and Gas of Republic of India

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Oil and Gas of Republic of India Mr. Dharmendr Pradhan, who arrived in the Turkmen capital for participation in a regular meeting of Steering committee on Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline (TAPI).

In the course of meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest exchanged the views on issues included into agenda of upcoming meeting of Steering committee as well as related to the construction in the near future of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, having underlined huge significance of transnational gas main in the field of maintenance of peace and stability in the region, friendship and welfare of people of the countries – its participants.

Having noted that implementation of the project of TAPI gas pipeline will contribute to further strengthening of efficient Turkmen-Indian cooperation, being established on the principles of constructiveness and long term, the head of Turkmen state and his guest confirmed mutual striving of the parties to accelerate the realization of this project and readiness to take all essential steps in this direction.

In conclusion of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and Minister of Oil and Gas of Republic of India expressed the confidence that traditional Turkmen-Indian relations, relying on true good will and mutual striving of the parties to expand fruitful cooperation in all trends, will successfully develop for welfare of two friendly states and nations in future as well.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of India in Turkmenistan Nagendra Prasad took part in the meeting.
