President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government.
During the meeting held in the atmosphere of mutual understanding and confidence, it was noted that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Armenia had developed actively at the bilateral and multilateral level within the authoritative international organisations, including the CIS.
Speaking about the priority areas of the Turkmen-Armenian partnership, the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia underlined the successful cooperation in the trade and economic sector as well as humanitarian sphere that included education, science and culture as well as preservation and study of the historical and cultural monuments of the two states.
Highly evaluating the dynamics of the intergovernmental dialogue, the Head of the Turkmen state and the Prime Minister of Armenia expressed satisfaction with the progress of the implementation of the top-level agreements achieved earlier and the signed documents. The President of Turkmenistan and his guest also expressed satisfaction with the status of the Turkmen-Armenian relations and reaffirmed the willingness to enhance them further.
In this regard, the Turkmen leader and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia underlined the important role of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Armenian Commission on economic cooperation in intensification of the partnership in the key areas and achievements of results in the trade and economic area. The President and his guest also emphasized the significance of the further strengthening of relations between economic entities and businessmen of the two countries.
