President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Swiss Confederation Didier Burkhalter, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government.
The status and the prospects of the bilateral cooperation were discussed and the areas of further collaboration between Turkmenistan and the Swiss Confederation were specified during the meeting.
The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Swiss Confederation reaffirmed the willingness for the consolidation of the joint efforts in strengthening peace, stability and safety. The policy of neutrality, which is pursued by the both states with the aim to contribute to establishing peaceful relations between all countries in the world, plays an important role in this regard.
The Turkmen leader and his guest exchanged the views on the issues of the international policy, including the energy security, environment protection and improvement of the situation in Afghanistan, the economic revival of which Turkmenistan significantly contributed to within the last years.
Particular attention was paid to the establishment of the new transport routes on the Eurasian continent given the process of globalization of the world economy.
