President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov, who arrived in in Ashgabat to participate in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government.
The Turkmen leader and his guest discussed the progress of implementation of a number of the intergovernmental economic projects and the prospects of cooperation in the energy and transport spheres. It was underlined the significant role of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway, the initiative of construction of which was put forward by the Turkmen state.
The sides underlined the willingness to enhancing the constructive partnership at the bilateral level as well as within the framework of the international organization, including the regional cooperation within the CIS.
The Turkmen leader and his guest also focused on the interest in the implementation of the joint project in the sphere of science and education, culture and sports and, in general, in widening the dialogue in the humanitarian sphere.
Upon concluding the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov expressed belief that traditional Turkmen-Kazakh relations would continue to develop in all spheres.
