President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working videoconference meeting with the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat and the heads of a number of ministries. The agenda focused on the priority issues related to the social and economic development of the country, the current situation in the regions and Ashgabat in the context of the ongoing programmes of comprehensive reforms.
The heads of regional administration informed the Turkmen leader of the measures taken to take care of wheat winter plantations and harvest cotton without loss.
The report on the results of the elections to velayat, etrap and town halk maslahaty, which had been held in a proper and timely manner, was presented. The information on the progress in implementing a number of construction projects in the regions and the programme of the Harvest Day celebrations was presented.
The Turkmen leader congratulated citizens of Mary Velayat on the election of Mary town as the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2015. The President said that the honorary status had been delegated for the second time to the administrative centre of the south-eastern region of our country, noting with satisfaction that Mary was a cultural capital of the CIS countries in 2012.
The Ashgabat Hyakim reported on the progress in implementing the urban development programme in the capital city, providing for construction of new facilities, reconstruction and modernization of transport and engineering infrastructures and beautification of the city.
Commenting on the report, the Turkmen leader instructed to ensure the successful implementation of the urban development programme in Ashgabat.

The Minister reported that the official ceremony of delegating the status of the cultural centre of the Turkic world to Mary town took place during the XXXII Meeting of the TURKSOY Permanent Council. The plan of cultural events, which will be held with the participation of artistic groups and delegations from fraternal countries in Mary next year, was approved. The information on the preparations for the XXXIII Meeting of the TURKSOY Permanent Council, which would take place in Mary, was presented.
