The official visit of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Turkmenistan starts on December 2.
Within the framework of the top level talks in Ashgabat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Nursultan Nazarbayev will discuss the prospects and key areas of the bilateral cooperation in the trade and economy, cultural and humanitarian spheres as well as some aspects of the international policy that are of particular interest for the both states.
The top level meeting will be a powerful incentive to the maximum use of the potential opportunities of the two neighbouring states that have a huge resource basis as well as well-developed infrastructure that open up wide prospects for the joint work in various directions and first of all, in the energy and transport spheres.
In this regard, the fact that Turkmen specialists completed construction of the Turkmen section of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway, an important part of the North-South transport corridor, ahead of schedule is of particular significance. According to the leaders of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, the solemn ceremony of putting the railway into operation will become a historical event within the framework of implementation of this grandiose joint project, the main goal of which is to ensure the economically beneficial railway route between Asia and Europe as well as to promote to the wellbeing and sustainable development of the whole region.
