President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which was held in the Avaza national tourism zone. The meeting participants discussed the country's economic development for the eleven months of the current year and other domestic policy issues and considered the drat documents
It was reported that large-scale work was being done in the framework of the Programme of the President of Turkmenistan for Social and Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2012-2016 to use international practice and advanced technologies in the sectors, develop transport infrastructure, enhance the prestige of Turkmenistan in the world arena and improve social and living conditions of Turkmen citizens. The measures taken allowed achieving high performance results in nearly all the sectors of the economy.
This is evidenced by the macroeconomic indicators of January-November, in particular steady and dynamic GDP growth - 110.3 percent. Industrial output rose to 113.5 percent as compared to the same period in 2013.
An increase in retail trade was observed in the reporting period. This figure rose by 17.3 percent as compared to the same period in 2013. The growth rate of foreign trade was 104.6 percent in the reporting period.
The volume of investments from all sources of funding rose to 108.2 percent as compared to the same period in 2013. The ratio of this indicator to GDP makes 44.6 percent.
In January-November, 177 social and cultural facilities were built to achieve the objectives of the National Programme of the President of Turkmenistan on the improvement of social and living conditions in villages, settlements, towns in etraps and etrap centres for the period till 2020, that is 42 facilities more than those built last year. 297 facilities, 957.200 square metres of apartments, supply networks and buildings are currently under construction in accordance with the Programme. This figure rose by 17.8 percent as compared to the same period in 2013.
According to the macroeconomic indicators of the national social and economic development in January-November, the main financial document - the State Budget was implemented successfully. The budget revenues were implemented at 120.4 percent, and the budget expenditures - at 96.9 percent. Substantial budgetary funds - 80.9 percent were spent to finance the social sphere. Wages, pensions, state benefits and scholarships were paid off timely and in full. The average monthly salary in the eleven months increased by 10.3 percent as compared to the same period in 2013. The prices for consumer goods and services rendered to the population were maintained.
The Turkmen leader reviewed and signed the resolutions on the construction of a large complex of social facilities in Ashgabat, on the issues of social and economic development of a number of districts in Balkan Velayat, the sale of domestically produced grain products - about 200 tons of first grade flour produced from Turkmen wheat - on foreign markets.
The Turkmen leader approved the draft project of a training centre in Ashgabat, where oil and gas industry workers will improve their professional skills, and gave specific instructions on equipment of the centre with the latest technology and teaching aids.
