President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanovic, who arrived in our country on a visit, held the talks in the Avaza national tourism zone located on the seashore of the Caspian Sea.
In the morning, the motorcade of the head of the Government of the Republic of Croatia arrived at the Serdar Hotel. The President of Turkmenistan warmly greeted the distinguished guest in the foyer of the hotel. After the official greeting ceremony had been concluded, the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Croatia held the talks in a narrow format.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that he was glad to greet the head of the Croatian Government in the Turkmen land. Sharing his warm recollections of the meeting with the leader of the Republic of Croatia which took place in Ashgabat in April this year and his visit to Croatia in June 2009, the Turkmen leader expressed belief that the talks in Avaza would reflect a new approach, which is consonant with the spirit of the times, to implementing the potential of partnerships in bilateral format as well as in the interests of Eurasian cooperation.
Cordially thanking President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the invitation to visit Turkmenistan and a cordial welcome extended in the country, Zoran Milanovich emphasized that he was very glad to visit the seaside town of Turkmenbashi, the rapid development of which symbolizes the renewal of the Turkmen land and ongoing ambitious social and economic reforms in our country.
The current state and prospects of interstate cooperation were discussed and the areas for further partnership were identified during the talks. The sides noted with satisfaction that the two countries were successfully working towards the implementation of bilateral agreements, which is another evidence for the mutual interest and intention to promote constructive partnership in the interests of the two peoples. The President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia also touched upon the most relevant topics for joint infrastructure projects and enhancement of investment activities.
After the one-to-one talks had been concluded, the members of the government delegations of the two countries held the talks in the big meeting hall in the Serdar Hotel.
Greeting once again his guest in the Turkmen land, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that demonstrating its commitment to the age-old traditions of friendship and good neighbourliness, Turkmenistan and Croatia were determined to bring interstate partnership to a higher level and deepen a business and cultural dialogue.
Focusing on trade and economic cooperation, the President focused on the fuel and energy, transport and communication sectors as its dynamically developing areas.
However, not all reserves are used to intensify bilateral cooperation. In this context, Turkmenistan's ambitious plans to develop tourism, competitive domestic transport sector and port infrastructure open up ample opportunities. Noting that Croatia has the extensive expertise in building effective and profitable tourism industry, the Turkmen leader said that our country was interested in further deepening bilateral contacts in this sector.
Enhancing cooperation in education and culture and humanitarian contacts is deemed to be very important.
