On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Chairperson of Mejlis of Turkmenistan A. Nurberdyeva received letters of credence from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania in Turkmenistan Mr. Valdas Lastauskas.
During the meeting the diplomat was briefed on key aspects of the policy of the Turkmen state, including the promotion of fruitful relations with all countries and major international organisations. Particular emphasis was placed on the implementation of ambitious social and economic reforms. Also, the Lithuanian diplomat was informed of the organisational structure and multifaceted activities of Turkmen Parliament.
Mr. Valdas Lastauskas emphasized that his country was keenly interested in fostering a full-scale dialogue with Turkmenistan.

The plenipotentiary representative of the friendly state will participate in the International Conference” Neutrality of Turkmenistan: the Strategy of Peace, Security and Sustainable Development”, which will be held at the Institute of International Relations of MFA of Turkmenistan. A number of meetings will be held at the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
