President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, who arrived in our country on an official visit, will hold talks in Ashgabat on December 15.
The talks in Ashgabat are expected to result in signing bilateral documents which will expand the regulatory and legal framework of Turkmen-Georgian relations and contribute to building up fruitful partnerships and diversifying business contacts. Key areas on interstate cooperation include trade and economy, energy and other industries. Given the modern realities and the favourable geographical location of Turkmenistan and Georgia ample opportunities for cooperation and involvement in the implementation of ambitious infrastructure projects exist in the transport sector. In this regard, the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) project and the plans towards the revival of the Great Silk Road are deemed to be promising.
In this context, Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey transport corridor project, which could be an integral part of modern continental transport networks in the future, offering participating countries new opportunities to get access to world markets as well as intensifying trade and economic relations in Eurasia, is deemed to be timely.
