President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Georgia Giorgi Margevlashvili, who had arrived in the Turkmen capital on an official visit, held the talks in the Turkmen capital.
This is the first visit of the President of Georgia to Turkmenistan that will become an important step towards strengthening and further development of the traditionally friendly intergovernmental dialogue.
The top level bilateral talks in the Turkmen capital will offer a powerful incentive to the mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmenistan and Georgia, implementation of which meet the interests of the two peoples and countries.
An official ceremony of greeting the distinguished guest took place at the Oguzhan Presidential Palace Complex.
After the ceremony of official photographing in front of the State Flags of the two countries, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Giorgi Margevlashvili held the one-to-one talks.
During the meeting, the leaders of the two states discussed a wide spectrum of issues on the bilateral cooperation specifying its prospective spheres given the existing tremendous potential for diversification of the efficient contacts. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Georgia Giorgi Margevlashvili underlined the significance of the further enhancement of the mutually beneficial partnership in the trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres.
The leaders of the two states exchanged their views on the important issues of the regional and international policy that are of particular interest for the two states.
Then talks continued with the participation of the government delegations of the two countries.
After the talks, the ceremony of signing bilateral documents on cooperation in the transport sphere as well as the partnership between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and Georgia was held at the Seljuk Hall.
In particular, cooperation in the sphere of transport refers to the implementation of Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia project aimed at providing the countries, members of the project as well as other states of the region with an opportunity to enter the world markets. Undoubtedly, this will contribute to the social and economic revival of Afghanistan, its participation in the large-scale regional and international infrastructural projects.
