Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the fifth convocation held the sixth session. The representatives of the ministries and agencies concerned and the media attended the meeting. A number of draft laws and legal acts developed in the context of the key aspects of the state policy were put on the agenda of the session.
During the meeting, the deputies of the national parliament considered the draft Law on Tenders on Delivery of Goods, Works, and Services for Public Use. The Law is designed to regulate the government procurement of goods, works and services, selection of suppliers and contractors as well as to encourage the development of the healthy competitiveness and promote the efficient use of directed funds and improve the work of the government agencies in this area.
Discussing the draft Law "On the legal regulation of Internet and provision of Internet services in Turkmenistan", the meeting participants noted that the comprehensive development of the communications and telecommunications sector was one of the priority areas of the state policy, an important factor for sustainable economic growth of the country and its successful integration into the modern global economic system.
The deputies considered the draft Law of Turkmenistan "On mineral resources". This law regulates the terms related to the geological study, use and protection of mineral resources as well as mining operations. It is aimed at creating and widening the mineral resource base in the country, protecting the interests of the state and citizens of Turkmenistan in the sphere of subsoil management and the rights of subsoil users. The law creates all necessary conditions for the dynamic development of mining and other sectors of the domestic industry and wide international cooperation in this sphere. Moreover it is designed to ensure the effective and efficient use of the abundant natural resources of our country and preserve them for future generations.
The parliamentarians considered the draft law "On amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Offences of Turkmenistan", "On Amendments to the Law of Turkmenistan "On the State Flag of Turkmenistan, "On Amendments to the Law of Turkmenistan "On the State Border of Turkmenistan", "On Amendments to the Law of Turkmenistan "On certification".
Moreover, the draft resolutions of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan "On the ratification of the Treaty of friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic" and "On the plan of the legislative activities of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan for 2015".
