Since early morning, many people gathered together in the 10 Years of Independence Park in Ashgabat, where the monument to first President of Turkmenistan S.A. Niyazov was erected, to pay tribute to the memory of the first President of the country. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the commemorative ceremony.


The Turkmen leader arrived in the park in the morning and laid flowers to the monument to first President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov. Following the Turkmen leader, the government officials, heads of the Mejlis, ministries and departments as well as ambassadors of Turkmenistan in foreign countries, heads of the diplomatic representatives and missions accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of public organisations, deputies of the National Parliament and other participants of the ceremony laid flowers to the monument.
