President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a joint meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council in Berkarar Hall of Oguzkhan palace complex. The meeting agenda focused on the important issues of the domestic policy.
Before opening the meeting, the Turkmen leader congratulated the meeting participants and citizens of Turkmenistan on the winter holidays and wished everyone good health, family wellbeing, happiness and great achievements in their work for the benefit and prosperity of neutral Turkmenistan.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that 54 meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers, 13 meetings of the State Security Council and over 44 forums had been held this year. Mutually beneficial relations with different countries had been intensified twice as much as compared with 2013.
The President of Turkmenistan had held 190 meetings with representatives of foreign states and international organisations, including the heads of state and government, ministers, heads of international and regional organisations and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, in the current year. The President of Turkmenistan had held 40 meetings with top managers of international corporations and companies.
Nearly all the activities planned for 2014 had been completed. The President of Turkmenistan mentioned the commissioning of the North-South transnational railroad and the launch of construction projects of industrial facilities as the illustrative examples. GDP growth rate is expected to exceed 10 percent in the current year.
The Turkmen leader said that the United Nations General Assembly had adopted the Resolution on the Role of Transport and Transit Corridors in Ensuring International Cooperation, Stability and Sustainable Development initiated by our country this year.
The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers presented reports on the preparations for New Year celebrations at ministries and departments, the measures taken to organize New Year's fairs at affordable prices and the programme of New Year celebrations, including various cultural actions and events.
The reports on the measures taken to ensure stable electricity supply to urban and rural areas and to beautify the capital city were presented.
It was reported that financial and banking institutions had made payments in a timely manner and in full.
The reports on the current situation in various sectors of agricultural industry and the practical steps taken to flood the food markets across the country with fruits and vegetables and the measures taken to ensure uninterrupted supply of fuel and lubricants to refuelling stations during the winter holidays.
The report on the preparations for the international events scheduled for the following year was presented.

The President instructed that health care institutions and ambulance services would work around the clock during the holidays and leisure activities for children would be organized during the winter school holidays.
The Turkmen leader instructed to build shopping centres similar to the Berkarar shopping mall in Ashgabat in the regions of the country.
