On the final day of the state visit to Turkmenistan, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani visited Mary Velayat administrative centre.
During the trip to the Ancient Merv State Historical and Cultural Reserve, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani visited a number of significant architectural monuments, in particular a monument of the VII-IX centuries - the Big Kyz Kala fortress, Muhammed ibn-Zeid Mausoleum and mausoleum of the last ruler of the Great Seljuk Empire Sultan Sandjar.
In the afternoon, the distinguished guest visited Mary Velayat Library. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani held a meeting with Afghan students studying in Turkmenistan at the library conference hall. At present, in accordance with the intergovernmental agreements, 75 students from Afghanistan are getting professional knowledge in various specialties in our country.
During the meeting, the President of Afghanistan briefed meeting participants on the outcomes of the top level talks in Ashgabat underlining their fruitful character and focused on the significant attention paid to the educational sphere within the framework of the bilateral relations.
The same day, the President of Afghanistan left Turkmenistan for the Motherland.
