President of Turkmenistan conducts a videoconference meeting

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a regular videoconference meeting with the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat and the heads of a number of departments and ministries concerned. The meeting agenda focused on the progress in achieving the objectives of social and economic development of the regions and other important issues of the domestic policy.

The heads of administration of the regions reported on ongoing seasonal agro-technical activities and the measures taken to create favourable conditions for livestock during the wintering season. The reports on the preparatory work being done to harvest silk cocoons were presented. The information on the current situation on construction sites and the progress in implementing the working plans on the heat and electricity supply to apartment houses, schools and kindergartens in the regions was presented.

The report on the preparation of the programme of activities and events to mark the announcement of Mary as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2015 was presented. The projects and the layout of a shopping and entertainment centre and a bus terminal to be built in Mary Velayat were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The report on the current situation in the capital city, including the measures taken to beautify the city, was presented.

The project and layout of a fish factory in Balkan Velayat and the projects and layouts of the facilities designed for equestrian events that meet international standards to be built on the territory of Ashgabat equestrian sports centre were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The report on ongoing work in the framework of the construction projects of the building complex of the Institute of Communal Economy in Abadan Etrap of Ashgabat and a number of social and cultural facilities was presented.

Commenting on the reports, the President instructed to take all necessary measures to ensure the high level of organisation of the agronomic campaigns, increase crop yield, prepare for spring field work and create favourable conditions for farm animals during the wintering period.

The President instructed to keep strict control of construction work in the regions, particularly in the Avaza national tourism zone, and the heat and electricity supply to apartment houses and social facilities.

Emphasizing that the regions had necessary resources and facilities to implement the cocoon production plans in the current year, the President issued the relevant resolution.

Providing some comments on the projects and layouts presented for consideration, the Turkmen leader made significant adjustments to them and instructed to ensure proper and timely construction of these facilities and buildings.

President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov heard the report of Minister of Defence B. Gundogdyev on the progress of the ambitious military reform.

Congratulating officers, military servants, soldiers and cadets on the 23rd anniversary of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan and the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland, celebrated on January 27, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief expressed his best wishes to high-ranking officials and servants of military and law enforcement agencies, who significantly contribute to implementing the programmes of reforms.

The President issued the decrees on the appointment of high-ranking officials during the meeting.
