President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the priority issues of the domestic policy and draft documents were discussed.

The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers presented the reports. The information on the measures taken to increase export of domestically manufactured products and the proposals for the implementation of the projects jointly with the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan were presented.

The information on the progress in implementing the Turkmen leader’s initiative for constructive cooperation in the Caspian Sea region was presented.

The report on the ongoing work on the awarding of the honorary title Ene Mahri to mothers with many children was presented.

The reports on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities, the preparations for the cotton campaign and the measures taken to take care of winter crops were presented. 14,440 hectares of agricultural lands to be sown with vegetable crops were ploughed.

The information on the progress of construction of the East-West gas pipeline was presented. A total length of the gas pipeline being built by the subdivisions of Turkmenenbigazgurlysyk State Concern at the request of Turkmengaz State Concern is 773 kilometres. It is planned to build 7-8 gas compressor stations in order to use the gas pipeline at full capacity. The construction of the gas pipeline is to be completed in December 2015.

The reports on the preparations for the Days of Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which will take place in Ashgabat on March 5-7, and a regular meeting of Turkmenistan-Austria Commission and Turkmenistan-Austria Business Forum, which will take place in Ashgabat, were presented.

The information on the progress of construction of Turkmenbashi international seaport was presented. A total area of the international seaport is over 138.5 hectares; it will occupy a part of the water area.

Other domestic policy issues were discussed and the decisions were taken during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
