President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council. The work done by the military and law enforcement agencies for the first two months of 2015 was considered and the objectives of optimizing the activities and further strengthening the material and technical base of these agencies were specified.
The members of the State Security Council presented the detailed reports on the work done since the beginning of the current year and the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions.
Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that though the Turkmen state paid tremendous attention to the objectives of enhancing the strength and effectiveness of the national army as set forth by the defensive Military Doctrine, Turkmenistan would be always committed to its status of neutrality.
Emphasizing the work carried out by the Ministry of National Security was of crucial importance, the Turkmen leader instructed to take further measures to maintain civil peace in the country and society.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused the need to maintain strict discipline and order in the border troops so as to ensure the reliable protection of the borders of independent neutral Turkmenistan.
Noting the important role of the regular military exercises in enhancing military skills and theoretical knowledge of military servants, the President expressed belief that the defenders of the motherland would always stand as the steel shield of independent Turkmenistan.
Emphasizing the special role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in ensuring internal stability, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of taking consistent measures to prevent crime, including road traffic and fire safety offences. The Turkmen leader instructed to ensure the high level of organization of the activities and events of the Month of Health and Happiness scheduled for next month. The President focused on the need to prevent any attempts to violate current national laws. The Turkmen leader also instructed to take further measures to improve the conditions of service and life and build comfortable apartments for officers of public prosecutor’s offices.
The Turkmen leader emphasized the need to further optimize the activities of customs offices and use advanced technologies and equipment most effectively so as to more thoroughly inspect the goods crossing the border of Turkmenistan.
Emphasizing the crucial importance of ongoing large-scale activities to combat and prevent drug abuse, which specialists of law enforcement agencies and health care institutions as well as general public are involved in, the Turkmen leader highlighted the need to closely cooperate with the authoritative international and regional organisations that stood as dependable partners in implementing important joint projects and programmes.
Giving specific instructions and assignments to the Head of the State Migration Service, the Turkmen leader focused on the personnel issues, the key aspects of which included the training of well-educated and erudite professionals. The Turkmen leader instructed the high-ranking military and law enforcement officials to give priority to combat and humanitarian training and enhancement of the professional skills of military servants who should broaden their horizons and fields of interest.
Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the meeting of the State Security Council.
After the meeting had concluded, the specimens of new full dress uniform of a guard of honour and an equestrian escort were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration in the foyer of the building of the Main Office of Civil Defence and Rescue Operations of the Ministry of Defence.
The Turkmen leader instructed to continue to work in the specified spheres, noting that along with the aesthetic features, the uniform should be comfortable and practical, and recommended that uniform designers should take national traditions and climatic conditions of our country into consideration.
