President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chargé d’affaires
of Japan in Turkmenistan Mr. Okimoto Yasushige, who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country.
Thanking for an opportunity of a personal meeting, the diplomat congratulated the Turkmen leader with the 20th anniversary of the permanent positive neutrality of Turkmenistan and wished the Turkmen people happiness, prosperity and success on the way towards the ambitious goals of the epoch of might and happiness. The Chargé d’affaires of the friendly country in Turkmenistan noted that Japan ardently supported the policy of peacefulness and wide international cooperation pursued by the Turkmen leader as well as important international initiatives put forward by the President of Turkmenistan with the aim to enhance stability and safety all around the world.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked the distinguished guest for his kind words and underlined the particular significance Turkmenistan attached to strengthen the ties of friendship and long-term mutually beneficial cooperation with the Southeast Asian countries, in particular Japan, an important partner of our country.
The Turkmen leader and his guest exchanged their views on various areas of the intergovernmental cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral basis – in the framework of large international organisations. It was noted that confidential top-level dialogue, which is based on mutual respect, as well as closeness and concurrence of positions of the two countries in a number of important issues of the international agenda promoted enhancing fruitful partnership.
Expressing satisfaction with the growing mutual interest that ensures the progressive dynamics of development of the business partnership, the Turkmen leader and his guest emphasized the significance of work of the Turkmen-Japan and Japan-Turkmen Committees for economic cooperation. In this regard the sides expressed belief in the success of the forthcoming visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan that would lay a solid foundation for diversification of mutually beneficial relations in various spheres, including trade and economy, fuel and energy sectors, development of which the two countries paid paramount attention to.
Underlining that cooperation with the land of the Rising Sun that possesses developed economy and high technologies is one of the key priorities of the foreign economic strategy of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen leader thanked the government of Japan for the support to the rapid social and economic development of our country through joint implementation of and investment to important for Turkmenistan projects.
