President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Rector at Hirosaki University Kei Sato of the National University Corporation in Japan. The meeting took place at the residence of the President of Turkmenistan at Metropolitan Hotel. As was reported the Turkmen leader arrived in the Land of the Rising Sun to participate in the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.
On behalf of the university professors, Rector Mr. Kei Sato cordially congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the conferment of the academic degree of Honorary Doctor of the University of Tsukuba.
Mr. Kei Sato noted that scientific and research work carried out by Doctor of Medical and Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Science, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who was in charge for the health care industry for several years and developed the scientific foundation of the state policy in the sphere of health protection as well as social and economic development of the country, was well known and highly valued in Japan.
Underlining the rich potential and wide opportunities for fruitful joint work, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov dwelt upon the necessity to establish wide contacts between authoritative scientific and educational centres in Japan and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and higher educational institutions in our country as well as exchange of experience in the sphere of education and conduct joint research.
The President of Turkmenistan called for continuation of work with Japanese scientists in such important for the modern world area as the use of solar energy, including sollar battery production based on silicon that the boundless Karakum Desert is rich in. It was also underlined the prospectivity of scientific cooperation in chemical industry, production of chemical fertilizers, ecology. The Turkmen leader said that significant attention in solution of modern world problems was paid to the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction and underlined the role of scientists’ joint work in this important area.
Given the interest of Japanese scientists, emphasis was put on the opportunities of establishing partnership between the Hirosaki University and leading higher educational institutions in Turkmenistan.
In conclusion of the meeting, representatives of the Hirosaki University once again expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for an opportunity to discuss important issues of cooperation in the field of science and wished the Turkmen leader health and new outstanding achievements in his ambitious state and scientific work.
