President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The meeting took place at the Sendai International Centre that hosted the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.

The Turkmen leader and the UN Secretary General exchanged their views on the priority areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations Organisation in the line of modern realities and prospects for the future. Focusing on the agenda of the global forum, the Turkmen leader and the UN Secretary General expressed belief in that its outcomes, and first of all, a new Framework action programme for the period after 2015 would contribute to further strengthening positive international cooperation with the aim to achieve the goals of the universe sustainable development and progress. In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined that our country would provide every support in consolidation of efforts within the United Nations Organisation on creation of efficient mechanisms and development of well-balanced approaches in solution of tasks that aroused concerns of the world community.
