Wide agenda of Turkmen – Russian cooperation to be discussed in Moscow

Working visit of Turkmenistan’s delegation to Moscow is planned on March 30 – April 2 this year. Vice-premier, Foreign Minister of the country Rashid Meredov has informed about preparation to the working visit to the head of the state during the last session of the Government.

It is planned to hold bilateral meetings and talks on priority vectors of cooperation under the work of Joint Intergovernmental Commission. Perspectives of cooperation of the regions of Russian Federation in oil and gas, chemical, industrial, agricultural spheres, transport sector, trade and economic, scientific and educations fields and health protection will be discussed.

At the same time, it is planned to have a meeting and talks between the heads of the Foreign Ministries of two countries, during which subjects of intensification of the interstate partnership in its main directions, including in political and diplomatic spheres, would be discussed.

It is also planned to have high-level interdepartmental consultations on regional security during the working visit of Turkmenistan’s delegation to Russian Federation.

It will be suggested to organize working meetings between relative members of the Government, heads of ministries, profile departments and big firms from both of the countries.

It is planned to have a meeting between representatives of the Group of National Equestrian Games «Galkynyş» and the management of the State Circus of Russia and Big Moscow State Circus.

Number of bilateral documents for cooperation if various spheres is planned to be signed by the outcomes of the above-mentioned meetings and talks.

In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that Turkmenistan and Russian Federation are united by old, primordially friendly relations. Our countries work constructively together under competent international organizations demonstrating similarity or proximity of positions in the main subjects of regional and global problems.

It was noted that Turkmen – Russian cooperation covers wide range of directions and there is a significant potential for intensification of efficient partnership in trade and economic sphere, which an important role is given to the activity of Joint Intergovernmental Commission. At the same time, special attention is paid to the strengthening of traditional contacts in humanitarian sphere, education and science, culture and art.

Speaking of this, the head of the state has noted with delight the steadfast character of cooperation with big regions and entities of Russia, with which productive economic, business and cultural relations have been established.

In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has given specific instruction to the vice-premier, the Foreign Minister, on preparation to the coming working visit of Turkmenistan’s delegation to Russian Federation.
