Meeting of co-chairmen of Intergovernmental Turkmen – Chinese committee for cooperation, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vice-premier of the State Council of the PRC Han Zheng took place in Xian on May 11.

The sides have discussed current condition and future development of Turkmen – Chinese cooperation. Special focus has been made on trade and economic cooperation.

It was noted that being a big trade partner of Turkmenistan, China plans to support the development of relations between two countries and to promote close relations on the highest level.

As of today, cooperation in gas sphere is the main direction, at the same time, mutual interest in development of beneficial partnership in transport, telecommunication, digital technologies, financial and banking systems has been noted.

Turkmen side has also proposed to review the opportunities of development of cooperation in small business by activation of bilateral mechanism for establishment of direct contacts between commercial and state structures of our countries.

Taking into account positive practice of cooperation in healthcare and medical spheres, the agreement on its expansion has been reached.

The sides have spoken for activation of work of Intergovernmental Turkmen – Chinese committee for cooperation, which is aimed at definition of priority directions of trade and economic cooperation and making beneficial conditions for closer partnership between two countries.
