IPU Assembly discusses inter-parliamentary cooperation, human rights, pandemic

Deputies of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan take part in the videoconference meeting of the Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Our country considers participation in the IPU work as an important component of international partnership in inter-parliamentary diplomacy, a unique platform for discussing a wide range of issues on the international agenda that requires the attention of parliamentarians.

Within the framework of the meeting, parliamentarians presented their views on the rights of a man, the youth and women, as well as international cooperation, international politics and the pandemic

A number of resolutions are expected to be adopted during the meeting. Among them are "Parliamentary strategies to strengthen peace and security against threats and conflicts resulting from climate-related disasters and their consequences ", as well as "Mainstreaming digitalization and the circular economy to achieve the SDGs, particularly responsible consumption and production”.
