President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will hold talks in Ashgabat with President of Kyrgyzstan S.Japarov, who will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan on June 27-28.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov reported on the preparations for the visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic during a videoconference government meeting.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in October 1992, Ashgabat and Bishkek had actively developed constructive cooperation in the political, trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres. According to the Minister, today the legal framework for the fruitful interstate dialogue includes 60 documents.

R. Meredov underlined that Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan actively interacted within the framework of international and regional organizations, where they provide each other with mutual support. The Vice Prime Minister noted that during the upcoming visit, it was planned to sign a number of bilateral documents aimed at further developing the Turkmen-Kyrgyz partnership in various fields.

Then, Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation from the Turkmen side Charymyrat Purchekov reported on the preparations for the official visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan and the events planned within the framework of the visit.

Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the foreign policy of Turkmenistan prioritized expansion of the dialogue with neighboring countries in the region, including Kyrgyzstan, with the people of which the Turkmen people are united by long-standing bonds of friendship and historically established community of cultural and spiritual traditions.

Speaking about the prospects for Turkmen-Kyrgyz cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the solid potential for building up productive trade and economic contacts that is vividly proved by the positive dynamics of mutual trade.

Underlining the importance of the upcoming top-level talks in Ashgabat, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials to ensure the high organizational level of preparations for the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan.
