The Turkmen language is the main wealth of the national culture

The Turkmen language is one of the richest in the family of Turkic languages. This is evidenced by many written monuments, which are excellent examples of folk art.

The epics "Gorogly" and "Gorkut ata" are among the masterpieces of Turkmen literature, which are invaluable wealth not only of the Turkmen, but also of other peoples of the East. Not only the poets of the classics of Turkmen literature, among whom the work of Makhtumkuli Fraghi occupies a special place, but also the poet Saif Sarai, who worked in distant Egypt, wrote the Turkmen. His destan "Gulistan - bit of the Turki" ("Gulistan in Turkic") is recognized as a common Turkic literary monument of the Turkmens, Nogays, Bashkirs, Uzbeks, Kazakhs and Karakalpaks. There are also two dozen gazelles and rubays, several couplets and imitations of the verses of other Turkic poets created by the talented author of the XIV century.
Doctor of Philology, Professor Ervand Vladimirovich Sevortyan, who trained more than 100 specialists in all Turkic languages and devoted more than twenty years to the creation of the "Etymological Dictionary of Turkic Languages", noted that the main riches of the Turkmen language are written sources and various dialects.

The Turkmen language has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries, ensuring continuity, reflecting the way of life of the people, its history and culture.

The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov notes in his writings that “wonderful works have been created in the Turkmen language that told the world about the philosophy of the people that have developed over millennia, their dreams and aspirations”.
