The Embassy of Turkmenistan in India held a solemn event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country's independence.

The meeting was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions of the countries of Central Asia, Belarus and Iran, employees of the Indian Foreign Ministry, the Indian-Turkmen Friendship Society, the India-Central Asia Foundation, Jawaharlal Nehru University, business and media representatives.

In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Delhi Shalar Geldynazarov briefed those present on the country's successes achieved over the years of independence in various fields, which was vividly reflected in the new book of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Independence is our happiness".

The ambassador also spoke in detail about the international events taking place in Turkmenistan, including the upcoming Summit of the heads of the ECO member states in Ashgabat on November 28.

Particular attention in the speech of the ambassador was paid to bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and India, which have a steady growth dynamics.

Vice-President of the Indian-Turkmen Friendship Society, Sandip Jain, also spoke at the meeting, who highly appreciated the successes of Turkmenistan over the years of independence, emphasizing the especially warm nature of relations between the peoples of the two states, which have deep historical roots.

As part of the event, a video was shown about the achievements of Turkmenistan. The guests' great interest was aroused by the exhibition of books by the President of Turkmenistan and exhibits of products of folk applied art of the Turkmen people.
