Today, a meeting of the Central Commission for holding elections and referendums in Turkmenistan was held in the capital, at which the results of the election campaign for the election of the President of Turkmenistan were summed up.

As reported, this important social and political action, which started a month ago and successfully completed last Saturday - March 12, was held in an atmosphere of openness and transparency, on a broad alternative basis, clearly reflecting the high level of democracy in the Turkmen society, civil consciousness of the population.

Opening the meeting, the chairman of the Central Election Commission congratulated all its participants on this momentous event, which became a bright page in the annals of a new stage in the development of the country - the era of the Revival of a new era of a powerful state. Once again demonstrating indestructible solidarity and unity, fidelity to the sacred precepts of their ancestors, the Turkmen people took an important step towards the further development of the Fatherland, the establishment of the principles of true democracy in their native land.

As noted at the meeting of the Central Election Commission, all stages of the election campaign were organized in a timely manner, in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation and generally accepted international standards.

Voting was conducted at 2,577 polling stations throughout the country. The voting of citizens of Turkmenistan abroad was also organized. 41 polling stations were opened at embassies and consular offices, where thousands of our compatriots who were outside the Motherland at that time had the opportunity to cast their votes for the most worthy candidate.

The voting process could be observed online on the website of the Central Election Commission.

A characteristic feature of the current campaign is the high activity of voters both in the pre-election period and on voting day, which indicates the high civic responsibility of the population, its desire to be a direct participant in the further process of democratic transformations in their native Fatherland.

The elections of the President of the country and the events connected with them aroused genuine interest among the international community and the world media. These days in Turkmenistan there were missions of observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Organization of Turkic States, and from a number of countries, as well as foreign journalists who had the opportunity to get acquainted with the course of the election campaign on the spot, to be convinced of the openness and election transparency.

Full monitoring of all stages of the electoral process was also carried out by national observers, including representatives of political parties, public organizations and the candidates themselves, who confirmed that the elections were held at a high organizational level, without violations.

According to national legislation, the final results of the elections will be made public in the near future.

At the end of the meeting, the head of the Central Election Commission once again expressed gratitude to all participants in the past election process, including media representatives, who carried out objective information support of the entire campaign for the election of the President of Turkmenistan at a high level, for its organization and responsible attitude, all possible assistance to further strengthening the democratic foundations of the state.
