On March 28-29, 2022, the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) in cooperation with the European Union (EU) Delegation to Turkmenistan held another tree planting campaign in Ashgabat.

More than 850 tree seedlings were planted along the Karakum River to green the coastal areas and improve the environmental condition. There are sophora, melia poplar, ash, acacia, paulownia, maple, albizia, mulberry and many other spices of trees and shrubs were planted.

It is worth to note this planting campaign is not the first action initiated by the CAREC and the State Committee for Water Resources of Turkmenistan. A distinctive sign of the current action was that, along with the officials, the family members of the EU Ambassador to Turkmenistan took an active part in it.

The participants expressed their wish to continue participating in the tree planting campaigns to make the capital of Turkmenistan and its surrounding areas more green.
