The ceremony of handing over the last batch of medical equipment was held at the Emergency Center of Ashgabat

The Ashgabat Emergency Center hosted the ceremony of handing over the last batch of medical equipment purchased under the project “Improving the health care system of Turkmenistan through the provision of medical equipment”.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Chary Agamyradov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan Yamamoto Hiroyuki, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, project manager of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Turkmenistan Vasily Tolkachev as the representative of the contractor project.

As the Japanese diplomat noted in his speech, grant funds were used to purchase modern medical equipment that meets all international quality standards within the framework of this project. In particular, X-ray machines, ventilators, modern ultrasound machines, bronchoscopy systems, etc. This medical equipment has already been installed in more than 50 medical institutions throughout the country, including Ashgabat, velayat centers and etraps. Along with this, training of medical personnel on its further effective use was carried out.

Mr. Ambassador also noted that the implementation of such projects in the field of healthcare is more timely than ever, taking into account the modern challenges faced by the whole world, adding that the government of the Land of the Rising Sun is ready to contribute to the modernization of the national healthcare system of Turkmenistan.

 In turn, the Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, Chary Agamyradov, expressed high gratitude on behalf of the ministry, the government and the Turkmen people to the Government of Japan for providing modern medical equipment.

At the end of the ceremony, Ambassador Yamamoto Hiroyuki held a talk with the medical staff, during which the doctors spoke about the effectiveness of this equipment.
