The expansion of international cooperation is one of the main directions in which the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan should and will develop. Therefore, the importance is attached to the development of cooperation both with the customs services of foreign states and with international organizations in the field of customs. This was reported on the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

Today, the legal framework of the Turkmen customs includes about 100 international treaties. In 2021, it was replenished with 3 more international documents. In particular, bilateral agreements were concluded with the Russian Federation, the Republics of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

On April 5, 2022, the Joint Action Plan between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Federal Customs Service (Russian Federation) was approved. The document was signed through diplomatic channels - through the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Russia.

This document establishes the algorithm of actions of the parties to develop cooperation in such areas as information exchange, personnel training, as well as in the field of customs offenses.
