On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of Mejlis Akja Nurberdiyeva accepted credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia Mr. Oktavino Alimudin.
On behalf of the Turkmen leader, the Head of the National Parliament congratulated the guest on the new appointment with the head of the diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan and wished success in the noble work aimed at strengthening the traditional ties of friendship between the two peoples and all-round extension of the intergovernmental dialogue built in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the framework of the largest international organizations.
Thanking for the heartfelt wishes and hospitality in the Turkmen land, Plenipotentiary Representative of Indonesia conveyed warm greetings and best wishes the senior management of the country, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen people, which confidently go towards the course of economic prosperity and progress.
During the meeting, the diplomat was briefed on the priorities pursued by independent neutral domestic and foreign policy, the fundamental principle of which is the establishment of mutually beneficial and equal cooperation with all interested partner countries, and informed about the progress initiated by the Turkmen leader of the ambitious reforms and put into practice for the benefit of present and future generations of the Turkmens.
It was confirmed mutual interest able to ensure the development of the Turkmen-Indonesian partnership in a number of key areas, including, first of all, political-diplomatic, trade and economic spheres. The important dominant of bilateral relations can be humanitarian ties, promoting further rapprochement with people.
A separate topic of conversation was the discussion of the prospects for inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation in the legislative sphere, the development and improvement of which Turkmenistan and Indonesia are paying special attention.
