Today the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov began to the Russian Federation.
All-round strengthening of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties with Russia, our country has always, from the first days of gaining state independence, attributed to the category of the main vectors of its foreign policy.
Demonstrating commitment to the centuries-old traditions of friendship and good neighborliness, at the present stage, both countries are building a fundamentally new model of interstate cooperation based on a balance of mutual national interests and key priorities of socio-economic development.
Confirmation of the mutual desire and readiness of the top leadership of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation to follow the course towards the comprehensive expansion of the established trusting and mutually respectful cooperation is a constructive political dialogue that is successfully developed on a bilateral and multilateral basis - within the framework of major international organizations and authoritative regional structures, primarily the UN and CIS.
In recent years, the "Central Asia and the Russian Federation" format has also proved its effectiveness, which also contributes to the strengthening of traditional trade, economic and cultural ties.
The accumulated successful experience of many years of joint work allows us to speak not only of the continued mutual interest, but also of the firm intention of the parties to steadily build up a multifaceted partnership, which today includes certain regions of Russia, its largest industrial and cultural centers, including the Republic of Tatarstan, Astrakhan and Sverdlovsk region, the northern capital of Russia - St. Petersburg and other subjects of the Russian Federation.
In a word, in recent years an effective mechanism of interaction has been established, within the framework of which meetings are regularly held at various levels, including top-level talks, meetings of representatives of government agencies and business circles of the two countries, business forums, and numerous cultural events.
A special role in the intensification of bilateral relations is assigned to the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission for Economic Cooperation, which monitors the implementation of the agreements reached, as well as determines new directions and creates favorable conditions for mutually beneficial partnership in various fields. Among the most important of them are the trade, economic and fuel and energy sectors, industry, transport, communications and telecommunications, education and healthcare, advanced technologies, agriculture and many others, where the addition of efforts is seen as the most effective.
There is no doubt that the first visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Russian Federation as the head of the Turkmen state will give a new impetus to the development of a multifaceted, equal and highly trusting Turkmen-Russian dialogue in the interests of both states and their fraternal peoples.
